ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2020

The  ICC T20 World Cup 2020 tournament.The seventh edition of the tournament will be held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November 2020.The final will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Teams and Qualification

As of 31 December 2018, along with hosts Australia, the top nine ranked ICC Full Members, qualified directly for the 2020 tournament. Of those ten teams, the top eight ranked teams qualified for the Super 12s stage of the tournament. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh did not qualify for the Super 12s,because they are placed at ninth and tenth position in the ICC ranking. They will be joined by the six teams who qualify for the tournament through ICC T20 World Cup 2019 Qualifier. Only two teams qualify from regional competitions that is United Arab Emirates and Nepal. The top four teams from the group stage will then be qualified for the Super 12s.

Venues

In January 2018, the ICC announced that the following venues would be hosting matches:

Adelaide -In Adelaide oval total six matches played in which one is semi-final.

Brisbane-In Gabba stadium only four matches played.

Geelong-In cardinia Park stadium six matches played.

Hobart-In Bellerive Oval total eight matches played.

Melbourne-In Melbourne Cricket Ground total seven matches and final match also played in this stadium.

Perth-In Perth stadium six matches played.

Sydney-In Sydney Cricket Ground total seven matches played with one semi-final.

Fixtures

On 29 January 2019, the ICC announced the fixtures for the Men's and Women's 2020 T20 World Cups.

Semi- Finals

Top two teams from both groups go to the knockout stage comprises of two semi-finals. First semi-finals played at Sydney in Sydney cricket ground on 11th November 2020 and second semi-final will be played at Adelaide in Adelaide Oval on 12th November 2020.

Finals

The final of T20 world cup will be held in Melbourne at the Melbourne cricket ground on 15 November 2020 between winners of semi finals.
